About Maverick Sportfishing Yachts

Maverick Sport fishing Yachts was born from Richard Lebo’s 60 years of world wide fishing and Nancy Lebo’s 12 years of management experience. 

Their first Costa Rican  boat was a 24’ open fisherman that chartered out of Quepos and was captained by a very young Daniel Espinoza. 

Several years later, that boat was sold and the “Bobcat”, 32’ Blackfin became one of the most popular charter boats out of Quepos.  In 2001, after deciding to upgrade and move the business to Los Suenos, there were no acceptable boats available, so Richard designed his owned boat and commissioned some boat builders to construct the “Spanish Fly”.  

The 42’ Maverick debuted in 2003 and it was an instant hit.  So far, there are three Maverick boats chartering out of the Los Suenos Marina, the “Spanish Fly”, “The Bite”, and the “Super Fly” and three more under contract to specific owners. 

Maverick Sport fishing is committed to having the most professional charter boats with the best equipment and crews in Costa Rica.  Their record speaks for itself.
